Technology Trends for 2016 and Beyond.

Technology Trends for 2016 and Beyond

Tech consultancy Gartner predicts consumers will have more than three mobile devices connected to the Internet in five years' time. It predicts the world will have more than eight billion connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, e-readers, smart glasses and other wearables.

Ericsson surveyed 6,600 smartphone users aged 15-69 in 13 major cities around the world.

Other findings of the report include:

  • 85% think wearable electronic assistants will be commonplace
  • 80% think internal sensors will measure our well being and enhance our vision, hearing and memory
  • 66% of commuters are dissatisfied with video streaming on the move
  • 45% of teens watch an hour or more of YouTube (GOOG) everyday
  • 44% want a 3D printer to produce food at home
  • 33% want AI to keep them company

A note from Her HeartBeat:

Digital Technologies will be critical for a company's success. Platforms will become the trend for 2016 and beyond as they begin to disrupt traditional website SEO and the utilization of social media platforms.

Utilization of multi-media channels, such as creating one on the Her HeartBeat Media & Broadcasting App or purchasing your own platform is extremely important for brands to be successful. Website searches will be a thing of the past as web hooks and deep links will be searched through platform channels and branded platform apps.

Platform Technologies Are No Longer The Future As We Start 2016. Is Your Business Or Brand Ready To Stay Competitive?

The Platform (R)evolution: Defining ecosystems, redefining industries:

"Among the Global 2000, digital industry platforms and ecosystems are fueling the next wave of breakthrough innovation and disruptive growth. Increasingly, platform-based companies are capturing more of the digital economy’s opportunities for strong growth and profitability. Rapid advances in cloud and mobility not only are eliminating the technology and cost barriers associated with such platforms, but also are opening up this new playing field to enterprises across industries and geographies. In short: platform-based ecosystems are the new plane of competition." ~Accenture

Today, digital industry platforms are driving the next major wave of technology and business change. But why now?

The elimination of barriers—in terms of the technology, cost, and time associated with traditional IT infrastructure and application development— is the primary force driving and enabling this change. According to Gartner, “the cost for service providers to deliver infrastructure will plunge almost 40 percent by 2017.” Rapid advances in digital technologies and the economic leveling that they create are the major reasons why traditional companies can now develop their own digital industry platforms.

While these digital technologies have disrupted numerous established companies during the past 10 years, digital industry platforms will fuel the acceleration of disruption during the next three to five years, leaving less and less time for established companies to react to change. In case there’s any doubt about the impermanence of the modern enterprise, since 2000, 52 percent of the companies in the Fortune 500 have gone bankrupt, been acquired, or ceased to exist. This is due in large part to the disruption of traditional industry models by digital models.

Dare To Say Yes!

yes.jpeg

I've been humbled to have the privilege these last few weeks, to have had conversations with women who have inspired me. These women seemed to have an internal grit, a true strength, and a strong conviction & belief that their mission in life is something they won't give up on.

A commonality I have heard in each of the conversations is they said "Yes" when presented with an opportunity.

They didn't think about it. These women didn't focus on "all" the reasons why the opportunity would be beyond their abilities or believe that their past experiences weren't useful for "this" future opportunity & endeavor. They dared to say yes and then made it happen.

These women also surrounded themselves with other men and women who supported their dare to say yes and helped support them in their success. Collaboration and teamwork is key. It's imperative that if you dare to say yes that you then step away from the naysayers and people who may feed doubt into your soul. That is a must for success.

I have a belief that the dare to say yes comes from the dare to dream big!

Isn't is about time to dare....

Circles Of Change Impacts the Conversation

My path first crossed with Mary Ellen's in 2010 when both of our passions to make a difference in people's lives intersected. That's when she first mentioned her idea for "Circles of Change" and it resonated with me. We knew we were meant to somehow work together. Our lives continued to intersect on and off for the next 5 years until 2015 when our latest interaction confirmed it was time to connect more formally. Circles of Change was the perfect platform to create that lasting connection, conversation, and "change circle" that would create ripples of impact through our vision, missions, passions and skill sets.

I believe in "Circles of Change" because it allows for a meaningful conversation that supports collaboration and creates meaningful momentum to impact change locally to globally.

My media company, Her HeartBeat, has a vision of igniting success in women's lives which is achieved through marketing services, branding services, media services, consulting services, and state-of-the-art technology services. It creates a media culture that is it's own circle of change because it positively impacts women and their voices locally and globally. It helps create that shared conversation and voice. It's more than a conversation as it becomes a tipping point for lasting change.

I chose to become a "Warrior" for Change because I understand the impact of scars, both emotional and physical, and I no longer make a choice for them to define who I am. We are more than our scars. Our journey's can be made beautiful. Her HeartBeat inspires to spread that message to women.
