Disease Stage Management.
The heart is the seat of our emotions. The diagnosis of a heart attack, coronary artery disease and/or congestive heart failure have strong emotional components to them both in terms of risk factors as well as the emotional impact following a "cardiac event."
Depression, anxiety and trauma symptoms are very common following a cardiac event.
Some people are able to return to their regular life working through this on their own. Frequently, however, these symptoms linger and impact work, relationships, and quality of life, Ultimately this increases the risk for another event. That's the bad news.
The good news is no one has to suffer in this way. I work with people to help them successfully return to a life of "normalcy". It's common for individuals to enjoy an improved quality of life they haven't experienced in a long time.
